Locally grown dahlia tubers

Dahlia Tuber Sale Info

Please read carefully before placing an order. By paying for the tubers, you are acknowledging that you have seen and understood this info.

THE SALE

I will only be taking orders through my website – please don’t try to jump the queue by messaging me, even if you know me well!

Only the listed varieties are for sale. Please don’t send me ‘do you have….?’ messages….even if you see other dahlias you like in my photos.  Sorry I won’t have time to reply.

There will be quantity limits on some varieties, please respect that.

Once an order has been made, we can’t change it due to our inventory system.

I am trying to not hype this sale up so that it is not a manic experience for you, but from the amount of interest I’ve had from one social media post, you’ll need to be quick. Having a tuber in your basket does not reserve it for you. It is not yours until you complete checkout. Sorry – I know this is frustrating.

If you miss out on a variety you had your heart set on, please email me and I’ll put you on a wait list incase I have spares once all the orders are sent out (I’ve been quite conservative with my counting).

Pick up from Warkworth Option: Locals: I am happy to leave orders at my door for free pickup, as long as you organise a day and time so I can be prepared. This is up to you to contact me to arrange pick up. At least 24hours notice required thanks.

OUR TUBERS

All of our tubers have been grown on our farm for many years. They are not fresh imports like many sold by some of the big commercial sellers.

Dahlia viruses have become a major issue in NZ, mainly introduced on imported tubers. We are vigilant about removing any plants we suspect of having virus, and protecting our tuber health at every step of the process. Our snips are sterilised between every plant when pinching out young plants, harvesting flowers, cutting down at the end of the season and dividing tubers. What we can’t control is the sucking insects that can also spread virus, so we can’t give a 100% guarantee that our tubers are virus free, but we feel they are as close as we can get!

Tuber size will vary, as tubers of different varieties are also different shapes and sizes. Some of the tiniest tubers produce the best plants - size is not an indication of health.

IF YOU HAVE ISSUES

Please check your tubers on arrival, and get in touch within 48 hours if you have any issues, including damage during shipping.

There are so many factors that affect a plant’s health and growth, so we cannot take any responsibility for how you store, plant, care, harvest or propagate from your plant after you have received it.

We have an extensive labelling and mapping system to keep track of our varieties, but we accept that we’re not perfect and human error happens. If you receive a tuber that you think is mislabeled, please send us a photo once it is flowering, and we will be very apologetic and will put you at the top of the list for a replacement of that variety for the next season.
